There were 64 entries in this class.  2 Gold, 9 Silver and 21 bronze were awarded.

Judges comments: Very strong class and a pleasure to judge.
Difficult to separate two golds from each other as both were outstanding wines.
Very few faulty wines.

Our trophy went to COLDSTREAM HILLS. Andrew Fleming, Winemaker.

The trophy presentation lunch was held at Roundstone Winery.
Owners  John and Lynne Derwin have a lovely winery overlooking the lake and surrounding hills, making it a perfect setting for lunch.

Menu: Canapes.
Wood fired vine leaves with goats cheese, duck Rillettes and
Wood fired mushrooms with bacon on wholemeal rounds.

Main Course.
Yarra Valley salmon house smoked, with abalone mushroom and leek fondue and fire roasted beef with black olive tapenade.

Hassel back potatoes and a warm green salad of asparagus, baby artichokes, beans, sugar snap peas and spinach.

Dessert:
Selection of cheeses from De Bortoli’s cheese room.

Coffee and chocolates.

In all, a most enjoyable day talking with a lot of the local winemakers and promoting the Wine Service Guild in general.
